Town Disposal Site

 

TOWN OF GLENBURN DISPOSAL SITE RULES & REGULATIONS

 

The landfill is open the second Saturday and the fourth Sunday of each month from 8 AM to 4 PM (closed from 12 noon to 12:30).   It is located on the Hudson Road just beyond the intersection with Pushaw Road.  A punch card is required and can be purchased at the town office for $10.00 for 6 pickup truck or small trailer loads.  If more that 6 loads are required, single use cards may be purchased for $5.00 each.  Larger loads* cost $350.00 and require code enforcement approval.

*Vehicles larger than a standard size pickup or hauling double axel trailers. 

  

ACCEPTABLE MATERIALS

Only the following waste materials generated with the Town of Glenburn may be taken to the town disposal site:

A. Brush (limbs & branches no larger than 6-inches in diameter). 

B. Demolition debris such as shingles, siding, sheetrock, concrete blocks, treated or untreated boards, etc.

C. White good including stoves, washers, dryers, and auto body parts and other heavy metal pieces.   (No refrigerators or air conditioners that contain freon.    Contact S. Morgan Steel, 3620 Broadway, Bangor  947-3710 for disposal of these items)

D. Heavy metal pieces that are free of grease or oil.

 

UNACCEPTABLE MATERIALS

   They will not accept anything that is considered hazardous waste such as televisions, computers, any products that contain mercury, or fluorescent light bulbs.  They will not take mattresses, stuffed furniture, or carpets.
